When the world began to deal with the COVID pandemic in March 2020, health and social care staff felt some of the greatest pressures.
Staff working in various roles had to continue to run essential services while managing fast paced changes to their working environments, prolonged use of personal protection equipment, often in close contact with people suffering with the virus and were sometimes close to the most tragic outcomes possible.
All this, while also balancing their home lives and living through periods of lockdown. It’s not surprising that many have felt a negative effect on their mental health or wellbeing as a result.
In order to provide dedicated support to people working in health and social care roles, NHS England provided funding for specific support to be made available across the country, and in January 2021 the Staff Resilience Hub for people working in Surrey and North East Hampshire was launched (we are now called Here for You).
We provide free, confidential support through one-to-one sessions, and you can contact us anonymously if you wish. Our bitesize coaching (SHAPE) is available for staff who may be at risk of developing depression or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and we offer a wide range of live workshops and pre-recorded workshops, addressing a range of issues that staff are dealing with on a day to day basis.
These workshops can be used by individuals or teams and are designed to help you understand how the additional stresses of the pandemic may be affecting you or those around you, as well as how you can manage the symptoms with proven tools and processes. In addition our bespoke team work offers a team the opportunity to have a tailored session of support from us.
It’s important to understand that everyone’s experience is completely different. Whether you are in a clinical or non-clinical role, a student, trainee or agency staff; we are Here for You.
