Talking therapies are treatments which involve talking to a trained professional about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. There are different types of talking therapy that may be able to provide you with additional support though short courses of counselling.
Whatever your experiences, talking therapy aims to give you a safe space to talk to someone you can trust. With support, you can try to make sense of what you are feeling and start to feel better, to resolve complicated emotions and find ways to live with them.
These services are available for people aged 17 and over with common mental health problems including low mood, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress or grief.
In Surrey and North East Hampshire we have access to various services, which you can access either by GP referral, or you can refer yourself.
